What We Are Looking For In New Opportunities

Aratana Therapeutics takes a unique approach to animal health by exploring novel compounds and molecules found in both the human and animal health pipelines. We know that animal health companies are hungry for innovation to meet consumer needs, but many lack the resources to discover and develop new therapies.

We also know that pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies have compounds in their pipelines that could serve the animal health market, but they may not be aware of these opportunities or have the interest in bringing these products to market. At Aratana Therapeutics, we have the necessary experience, leadership and capital to bridge the gap between human health discovery and animal health marketing.

We are looking for compounds that have progressed to the point where the chemistry and early stage manufacturing parameters are well defined, significant safety data in dogs may be available and the biology predicts the possibility of cross-species effectiveness for the target. The target must meet a significant unmet or under-served need in companion animals.
